The ICAADA Certified Peer Addiction Recovery Coach I (CAPRC I) credential is intended for individuals who have a lived experience of recovery and who desire to help peers in addiction recovery. CAPRC I skill domains are:
Mentoring and Education
Recovery and Wellness Support
Requirements for the CAPRC include:
High school diploma or jurisdictionally certified high school equivalency AND 30 hours of training specific to the domains.
Applicants must pass the IC&RC Peer Recovery Examination.
Code of Ethics
The applicant must sign the ICAADA Peer Recovery code of ethics statement affirming that the applicant has read and will abide by the code of ethics.
40 hours of related continuing education earned every two years, including six hours in peer recovery ethics.
You must live or work at least 51 percent of the time in Indiana.
CAPRC Application Instructions
Applicant for the CAPRC I credential must demonstrate applicable education as well as pass the IC&RC Peer Recovery examination. A complete application consists of:

Once the CAPRC exam is passed and your submitted application packet is complete, your CAPRC certificate will be issued within 30 days.
